An air handler Dri-Steem humidifier connects to a steam distributor via vapor hose, tubing, or hard pipe with a minimum fifteen percent slope toward the distributor and an 'S' separator used when the distributor sits lower than the humidifier steam outlet. Hard pipe must be insulated to reduce heat loss while vapor hose remains uninsulated. The number of vapor hoses or hard pipes depends upon pounds per hour requirements per schedule and manufacturer submittals. An air handler contains the steam distributor with specific vertical dimensioning X inches for the condensate trap.
