An interior partition wall abuts an exterior wall framing assembly with a one-quarter-inch bead of acoustical non-hardening sealant applied on each side. The exterior wall features layered gypsum board and batt insulation within the stud cavity. Water-resistant gypsum board is specified at all wet locations. Interior wall framing ties into the exterior stud cavity with referenced sheet assemblies.
