A diagonal metal stud brace is positioned at eight feet on center and alternated to each side where accessible, tied back at a maximum forty-five-degree angle. A three-inch by three-inch by sixteen-gauge bent plate connects the diagonal brace to the top track using a minimum of four number ten self-tapping screws. The continuous metal runner and ceiling joists receive continuous three-and-five-eighths-inch twenty-gauge metal stud bridging secured with number ten self-tapping screws on both sides. Partition studs and structural metal stud ceiling joists tie into the assembly per the structural and wall type schedules.
