This assembly utilizes a metal stud deflection track at the top of the wall and a standard steel track at the base, both separated from the structure by a continuous stud isolation strip. An anchor isolator bushing assembly secures the tracks, requiring a three-eighths inch diameter hole through the isolation pad and a three-quarter inch diameter hole through the steel track to seat the neoprene element. Non-hardening acoustic sealant is applied at the perimeter of the tracks where they meet the adjacent construction. The wall cavity is filled with sound attenuation batts, and each side is finished with two layers of type X gypsum board. Where possible, stud spacing should be increased to twenty-four inches on center, and the assembly accepts one-quarter inch diameter anchors.
