A fire and smoke damper is integrated into a scheduled partition wall with a 5/8-inch Type X gypsum board installed between the damper sleeve and wall framing member all around. An angle frame is bolted to the fire damper sleeve at a maximum spacing of 2'-0" on center with a minimum of two bolts per side. A clearance of 1/8" per linear foot of duct size is maintained for the damper, connection, and duct. The fire damper complies with UL R5531 and the smoke damper complies with UL R10525.
