A concrete-filled steel pipe with a quarter-inch thick square plate welded to the bottom is embedded in a forty-two inch deep concrete footing. The top of the concrete is sloped and painted to match the post, which is galvanized, primed, and finished with two coats of exterior enamel. The square base plate rests on three inches of clearance above the bottom of the footing, with dimensions sized per the data schedule based on pipe diameter. Exterior paving or concrete surrounds the post at grade, with footings placed two inches above finished grade featuring one-half-inch radiused tooled edges.
