An interior storefront frame connects to a scheduled wall framed with two eighteen-gauge metal studs mechanically fastened at the jambs. The surrounding wall is finished with five-eighths-inch Type X gypsum board, painted where exposed, and edged with a metal gypsum corner bead. Wood blocking is provided as required between the framing and the storefront head or jamb assembly. A continuous backer rod and joint sealant seal the perimeter gap between the drywall return and the storefront aluminum frame.
