A sixteen-gauge minimum slip track with two-inch deep slotted legs and one-inch on-center slots accommodates vertical deflection beneath a concrete slab. Number eight sheet metal screws secure both sides at jamb conditions, while number ten sheet metal screws with stand-off washers or wafer heads fasten each side at the center of each one-inch slot. A three-eighths-inch diameter Hilti KB3 anchor with two-and-a-half-inch embedment fastens at the flutes typical at jamb conditions. Powder-driven fasteners at sixteen inches on-center with one-and-a-half-inch minimum embedment anchor the track to the concrete overhead, maintaining a three-quarter-inch structural gap.
