Suspended lay-in tile ceilings are hung using number twelve gauge vertical hanger wires spaced at forty-eight inches on center. The hanger wires extend up to the underside of the structure above. At the ceiling grid connection, the wire secures to the main runner with a minimum of four turns. Suspended lay-in tiles sit within the resulting grid system.
