The interior condition consists of a joist bearing on a track and wall, utilizing a joist segment of the same gauge as the joist, cut 8 inches long and fastened with four number 12 by 3/4 inch screws, requiring a minimum of 3 1/2 inches of bearing. Both conditions incorporate a closure track at the top of the bearing wall to stabilize the joist ends.
