A cable bundle passes through a partition opening lined with an optional four-inch diameter minimum steel sleeve. Firestopping sealant is applied flush with each end of the sleeve at a five-eighths-inch minimum depth. A half-inch diameter bead of fill material seals the sleeve perimeter on both sides of the wall when the sleeve extends beyond the wall surface. Cables are limited to filling a maximum of forty-five percent of the cross-sectional area of the opening per UL listing W-L-3065.
