A labeled rated access panel is integrated into a gypsum shaftwall system. The assembly is framed with USG steel J-runners and contains acoustical batt insulation between framing members. The shaft side is finished with one-inch gypsum board liner panels type X, while the opposite side receives two layers of five-eighths-inch gypsum board type X.
