The assembly features a stainless steel shower drain with an adjustable strainer head, with the drain body cast directly into the structural concrete slab. A waterproof shower pan wrap is installed over the sloped fill and under the drain collar, with pea gravel or similar material provided for weep protection at the weep holes. The finish floor consists of ceramic tile set over a latex Portland cement mortar bond coat, which is applied over a one to one-and-a-half inch reinforced mortar bed. The wall and floor membrane must be installed according to the manufacturer's specifications and recommendations.
