A vertical concrete retaining wall supports a loading dock ramp with a typical six-inch concrete curb cast on both sides. A variable-depth concrete slab forms the ramp surface, connecting to the wall with a 42-inch vertical clearance. Concrete paving abuts the bottom of the wall, separated by a half-inch expansion joint containing a compressible filler and sealant.
