This acoustic partition assembly utilizes three-and-five-eighths-inch sixteenth-gauge minimum cold-formed steel metal studs spaced at sixteen inches on center running to the underside of the deck, fitted with three-and-a-half-inch insulation between the studs. One side facing the work area is finished with five-eighths-inch abuse-resistant gypsum board up to eight feet above finished floor, transitioning to standard five-eighths-inch gypsum board continuing to the underside of the deck. The opposite side is clad in five_eighths-inch gypsum board running from the floor to the underside of the deck. Both sides are sealed to resist the passage of smoke and achieve an STC 52 sound transmission rating.
