Electrical junction boxes set into a concrete masonry unit partition require a minimum of 24 inches of separation between back-to-back boxes to maintain acoustic and fire ratings. The metal junction boxes are mounted flush with the face of the masonry unit wall. The cells surrounding the box are grouted solid to secure the installation. A scheduled concrete masonry unit partition type forms the wall assembly.
