An aluminum sheet metal counter flashing with an interlocking joint is set into a reglet in the mortar of a concrete masonry unit wall. Below this, a three-sixteenths-inch aluminum sheet metal flashing with a hemmed edge rests on a sealant bed above the roof deck. A structural blocking and a one-inch joint with sealant and backer rod color-matched to the adjacent mortar separate the wall courses. The concrete masonry unit bond beam incorporates reinforcement per structural requirements.
