These architectural details show window sill conditions across three distinct exterior wall assemblies: metal siding, insulated metal panels, and exterior insulation and finish system. Each window frame rests on a sill plate supported by the wall assembly and leveled with shims as required. A liquid-applied weather barrier coats the exterior gypsum sheathing behind the cladding. Metal flashing, sill trim, and sill cleats secure the transition at the exterior edge, sealed with elastomeric joint sealant and backer rods with weeps spaced sixteen inches on center. Rivets and quarter-inch pancake fasteners secure the trim components depending on the specific cladding type.
