A four-inch metal stud with an eighteen gauge thickness spaced at sixteen inches on center supports the gypsum board ceiling transition. A four-inch metal stud brace angled at forty-five degrees maximum connects to the framing using three number ten sheet metal screws spaced at four feet on center. Gypsum board finished with a corner bead wraps the transition assembly.
