The underslab vapor barrier is extended up the face of the concrete foundation wall by a minimum of 6 inches. A metal termination bar is mechanically anchored into the concrete to secure the top edge of the vapor barrier and the bituminous dampproofing layer. A bead of mastic is applied behind the termination bar, and a sealant bead is applied at the top edge of the termination bar to prevent moisture ingress. A protection course is installed over the dampproofing to prevent damage during backfill operations.
