A rectangular duct penetrates a gypsum board partition with a maximum one-half inch gap between the edge of the gypsum board and the duct frame opening. The assembly includes partition hangers on each side of the partition supporting the duct. Acoustic blanket insulation lines the duct. Acoustical joint sealant is applied at non-rated partitions, while penetration firestopping is used at fire-rated partitions.
