This assembly features a concrete curb with a six-inch top width and a total height of eighteen inches minimum, including asphalt concrete and aggregate base layers. A concrete walk with a thickened edge abuts the curb, separated by a one-half-inch expansion joint. The curb edges are finished with a one-half-inch radius. The walk thickness is determined by the project plans, and the curb is set against natural grade. Expansion joints are required at sixteen feet on center maximum and at all curve tangents and corners.
