The assembly is framed with solid wood 4x4 Douglas Fir vertical supports measuring two feet and eight and a half inches high, carrying a one and a half inch thick solid blank Douglas Fir top designated as ST-1. The top members are cut to size with exposed ends and connected at the center join using number 20 biscuits spaced five inches on center. Rigid corner connectors, specifically Simpson RTA2Z brackets, are installed at each upper corner to stabilize the framing. The overall clear width of the opening is two feet with three and a half inch jamb supports.
