This window head assembly incorporates a recessed pocket for motorized sheer drapes and blackout shades adjacent to a storefront window system. The soffit is framed with metal studs and finished with 5/8-inch gypsum board, featuring a 7 1/4-inch vertical drop and a 1-foot 5-inch minimum depth for the shade pocket. Fire-retardant treated 5/8-inch plywood blocking is installed at the head to support the motorized track and shade hardware. A plenum box is positioned above the ceiling line, with a mechanical diffuser and LED lighting integrated into the soffit face. The assembly maintains a 6-inch minimum clearance for the plenum box and includes provisions for power and data cabling for speakers.
