A structural steel rafter connection is framed using a three-eighths-inch thick gusset plate welded to the structural framing member sized per plan. The connection employs five-sixteenth-inch fillet welds on both sides of the plate designated for special framing and lateral force-resisting systems. Minimum clearance dimensions include a one-inch gap and a five-inch minimum dimension for the gusset plate assembly.
