An interior partition wall intersects an exterior wall assembly with a one-quarter inch bead of acoustical non-hardening sealant applied to each side at the junction. The intersecting wall framing ties into the exterior stud cavity with framing members. Gypsum board layers finish both sides of the interior and exterior partitions.
