A one-and-a-half-inch diameter pipe handrail connects to the wall using a three-inch diameter by one-quarter-inch thick plate bracket. The handrail ends return to the wall typically, maintaining a minimum one-and-a-half-inch clearance from the wall surface. Brackets are spaced at a maximum of five feet on center for all wall-mounted handrails. The assembly fastens to a scheduled partition with required blocking provided behind the finish material to resist a design load of fifty pounds per foot applied in any direction.
