A new six-inch standpipe riser passes vertically through core ten-inch diameter holes in intermediate landing floor slabs. Six-inch long-ear riser clamps support the pipe at floor penetrations, accompanied by flexible grooved couplings positioned within a maximum one-foot zero-inch distance from the structural slabs. A two-and-a-half-inch fire department hose valve branches off the standpipe. Where pipes pass through holes in platforms, foundations, walls, or floors, the holes are sized such that the diameter is two inches larger than the pipe for one-inch nominal up to three-and-a-half-inch nominal, and four inches larger than the pipe for four-inch nominal and larger.
