A 22 gauge metal flashing with a drip edge matches the metal panel curtain wall system and receives continuous backer rod and sealant beneath the sill. A one-inch aluminum back dam is sealed at the jambs in a color matching the curtain wall. The air barrier is continued to the back dam over shims, and hat channels are framed out around the window with typical corner beads.
