Standard and low-level exit signs are positioned relative to the door frame with specific dimensional clearances unless otherwise noted. The ceiling or wall mounted exit sign is centered over the door header at a dimension of six inches above the top of the door header, aligned with the centerline of the door. The low-level exit sign is mounted on the latch side of the door, positioned four inches from the edge of the door frame and seven inches above the finished floor.
