An exterior joint cover assembly incorporates a Balco FCVSE-5 exterior flat seal or similar product with an aluminum base in a black color. The expansion joint spans between cold-formed metal stud walls framed with three-and-five-eighths-inch metal studs. Metal flashing integrates with the assembly at the joint intersection.
