This assembly utilizes a surface-mounted vertical control joint profile installed over gypsum wall board. The partition framing requires a dedicated metal stud at each side of the control joint to provide independent support for the gypsum panels. The joint profile is centered over the gap between the two wall sections to accommodate thermal or structural movement.
