The drawing illustrates two partition wall configurations labeled (1) and (2). Assembly (1) is an 8-inch CMU wall extending up to 10 feet above finished floor. Assembly (2) is a cold-formed metal stud wall using 3-5/8 inch, 20-gauge metal studs at 24 inches on center with one layer of 5/8-inch gypsum board on each side, designed to run from the top of the CMU wall to the underside of the deck and aligned with the CMU surface.
