Cold-formed steel framing splices are constructed using overlapping track and stud segments to maintain structural continuity. A steel track splice utilizes a minimum twenty-four inch long piece of stud nested inside the top or bottom track, secured with a minimum of six number six gauge screws on each flange of each side of the splice. A steel stud splice utilizes a minimum twenty-four inch long piece of track nested over the steel studs, fastened with six number six gauge screws on each flange of each side of the splice.
