A maximum six-inch diameter steel pipe penetrates a partition wall per plans, maintaining an annular space ranging from zero to two and one-quarter inches. Firestopping sealant is applied within the annulus, flush with the wall surface at a minimum depth of five-eighths of an inch. A minimum one-half-inch sealant bead is placed at the point of contact between the pipe and the wall surface. The assembly complies with Underwriters Laboratories listing W-L-1054.
