Precast concrete pavers are bedded in a one-inch sand setting bed over a five-inch concrete base. The assembly sits atop a six-inch processed aggregate base and compacted subgrade. A three-sixteenths by two-and-one-quarter-inch heavy duty aluminum paver restraint is anchored to the concrete slab using masonry nails at twelve inches on center minimum. Precast concrete pavers feature hand-tight swept joints ranging from one-sixteenth to one-eighth-inch maximum. One-inch weep holes are provided at low points and four feet on center, backed with twelve-inch by twelve-inch squares of filter fabric.
