The roof hatch curb assembly sits on double two-by-eight minimum wood framing over a plywood deck and roof structure. Tpo sixty mil roofing is mechanically fastened over one-quarter-inch Securock and oriented strand board sheathing. A TPO membrane is adhered with TPO bonding adhesive up the vertical face of the curb. Twenty-four gauge galvanized iron counterflashing is secured with three-eighths-inch head screws through five-eighths-inch steel and neoprene washers, using a minimum of three per side and base flashing fasteners spaced at eight inches on center. Minimum one-half-inch plywood backing is secured to the hatch unit counterflashing. Minimum one-half-inch roof protection material is installed on three sides, set in five large dabs of roof cement extending to the top of the cant strip. The roof hatch is specified as Bilco type GS.
