A one and one-quarter inch diameter grab bar attaches to metal studs with a concealed mounting flange. A heavy duty backing plate spans between the studs, secured with two number fourteen by two inch stainless steel screws per stud. Interior finishes such as cement board occur at tile locations. The installed grab bar maintains a one and one-half inch clearance from the wall in compliance with accessibility standards.
