An aluminum curtain wall system mullion rests on shims atop the building structure, retaining an insulated glass unit above. A backer rod and sealant joint seals the interface between the sill framing and the substrate below. Below the sill, pre-finished aluminum composite metal panels attach over weather-resistive barriers and glass-mat gypsum sheathing. Cold-formed metal stud framing supports the exterior wall assembly, filled with insulation as required by energy calculations.
