A steel guardrail assembly at a stair landing anchors to the stair stringer and supporting structural elements. The top rail consists of a two-and-a-half-inch outside diameter steel pipe topped with a half-inch diameter steel rod, supported by a half-inch steel flat bar. A one-and-a-half-inch outside diameter handrail mounts to a plate infill for attachment, positioned at three feet above the finished floor. The vertical posts and infill elements are constructed from one-and-a-half-inch outside diameter steel pipe and flat bars, aligning with the stair stringer above the stair treads.
