This architectural detail shows a door head junction at an exterior EIFS wall assembly. A hollow metal frame interfaces with a metal stud wall, which is detailed with R-19 wall cavity insulation and two inches of rigid insulation. A liquid-applied air barrier is applied behind the exterior EIFS finish system. Metal flashing with a six-inch leg minimum is installed above the door frame for water management.
