This stair guardrail and handrail detail features a one-and-one-quarter-inch standard pipe guard rail at the top and a matching handrail positioned two feet ten inches above the tread nose, supported by one-half-inch diameter bars at each post. One-half-inch diameter bar pickets are spaced at four inches on center between the horizontal rails. The vertical post and lower pipe rail tie into the stair stringer and tread assembly, with an overall guard height of three feet six inches above the tread nose.
