Two panel conditions detail the weather-sealed vertical joints for exterior cladding panels. The outside corner assembly features a 3/8-inch chamfered or spaced gap with a seven-sixteenths-inch dimensioned return and is sealed with silicone sealant over a backer rod. A standard vertical flat joint shows a one-quarter-inch gap between panel edges, similarly sealed with silicone sealant and a backer rod. Both conditions indicate a glass fiber mat adhered to the backside of the panels typically.
