A concrete curb and gutter assembly incorporates an eighteen-inch wide by six-inch high drainage opening backed by asphaltic concrete paving over a base rock layer and a cobble spillway. The top of the curb is reinforced with two number four steel bars, with vertical steel placed outside the opening. Additional reinforcement consists of two number four bars located mid-slab with three inches of clearance from the edges.
