An exterior mailbox is supported by continuous blocking around the perimeter of the unit, with additional blocking provided as required. A water-resistive barrier (WRB-1) is lapped over the flashing at the head and sill. A minimum 22-gauge flashing (FSM-1) with a hemmed drip edge is installed at both the top and bottom of the mailbox to direct moisture away from the wall cavity. Siding is installed per plan, terminating against the mailbox perimeter.
