A stepped transition between an acoustic tile ceiling and a gypsum wallboard ceiling supported by metal stud framing. Sag-resistant gypsum board runs horizontally between vertical drops, aligned with adjacent ceiling planes using shadow reveals at the transitions. Metal stud framing extends vertically to create the ceiling height change. Acoustic ceiling tile systems abut the vertical drop with perimeter trims as detailed on referenced sheet A7.300.
