A rectangular takeoff fitting with a transition to a round connection mounts to the side of a main trunk duct and includes a manual volume damper with a locking quadrant. Sheet metal screws through a 1-inch flange with an adhesive-coated gasket secure the fitting at a maximum spacing of 4 inches on center. A round flexible duct matches the size of the ceiling diffuser inlet and spans between 2 feet and 5 feet in length to connect the branch to the supply air ceiling diffuser. Sizing for the round duct and rectangular opening follows the accompanying sizing table.
