This accessibility clearance diagram establishes the minimum approach dimensions for an existing door on the push side with hinge approach. A forty-two inch minimum clearance is required perpendicular to the door opening, which increases to forty-eight inches minimum if both a closer and a latch are provided. A twenty-two inch minimum clearance is required on the latch side beyond the door opening.
