A standpipe valve is positioned near the interior face of a stair enclosure maintaining required wrench and egress clearances. A painted red one and one-quarter inch inside diameter steel pipe cane detection rail is anchored to the slab using three-eighths by two and one-half inch bolts on a three-inch square base plate. The standpipe valve maintains a mounting height range of thirty-six inches minimum to sixty inches maximum. General contractor verification is required to confirm that egress width is not compromised by the standpipe or cane detection assembly.
