A concrete footing for a sliding gate track at a driveway is set flush with asphalt concrete or concrete paving as occurs. The assembly is anchored by a 6-inch steel channel embedded centrally in the concrete pad, paired with a 1 1/2-inch by 1 1/2-inch angle secured with Nelson anchor bolts spaced at 24 inches on center and 6 inches from the ends. Reinforcing steel consists of continuous number 4 bars on each side tied with number 4 bars 15 inches long at 24 inches on center, supplemented by number 4 bars at 24 inches on center across the top of the footing. A note specifies that both the track and the channel are to be galvanized.
